I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately what with joining all these social networks, plus the implementations of OpenID popping up. We’ve already got all of the tools to provide profile information, uniquely identify our social network, and each person’s relationship to us…all in a distributed fashion. We just need everyone to go out and get themselves an OpenID, and we need toolsmiths to write all the glue into their applications.
I was surprised at all the applications that are already doing this in one form or another. I use a number of those and didn’t even realize.
